Instead of using carpet shampoo there are plenty of other remedies you can use to clean your carpet.
There are three different kinds of solutions:
Detergent solutions are great ones to use.
Take 1/4 teaspoon of dishwashing detergent into a cup of warm water
Another solution is using vinegar, take a cup of white vinegar with a few cups of water.
Nail polish remover can also serve as a great substitute.
Next Steps: take a white paper towel and dip it into the cloth. Make sure to dab at the stain until the solution is throughly mixed into the carpet or rug. Wait a 20-25 minutes so that your solution is completely dried up and then take your vacuum to dry up the remainder of the carpet.
Repeat these steps until the stain is completely gone.
There are different solutions that work best on different carpet materials. For dirt and mud make sure that you vacuum your carpet first then dab the carpet with the cleaning solution mentioned above. Take a look at some quality carpet cleaning vacuums to help you clean your home.
